What were you thinking? I Don't have a new dress, nor do i have any jewelry!
May I borrow your diamond necklace?
Of course darling!
Mathilda was never pleased with what she had. All she did was complain about how "poor" she was, and wast happy with what she had.
Her husband came home with tickets to on of the best dances around. Instead of being grateful she was bratty, and complained. She was specifically upset because she didn't have a new dress nor any jewelry. Her kind husband gave her his savings to buy a new dress though, so all she needed was some jewelry.
Where did the necklace go?
Mathilda went over to Madame Forestier's house to borrow one of her best necklaces.
I lost the original, but replaced it.
It was a fake darling!
Mathilda went to the party, stayed all night and had a pretty good time. She felt especially pretty because she had a wonderful necklace on and dress.
On the way home she resized that she had lost the necklace. It just so happened to be Madame Forestier prettiest necklace.
They then spent all of their money on a replacement, only to find out 10 years later, after becoming poor for real, that it was a fake.
