Hello, I am John Locke and today I am going to be talking to you about my ideas as a philosopher and if others agree or disagree with my ideas.
First off I will explain my ideas. I believe that people are born with three basic God given rights: life, liberty, and property. The government needs to protect these rights and if they don't, they should be overthrown. This is the agreement between the government and the citizens and is called social contract.
I also believe in religious tolerance. This means that I accept and allow people to have other religious beliefs than me. Now, lets talk to some of my fellow citizens to see if they agree with me.
Hello William! I have an idea. I believe that people have three basic rights (life, liberty, and property). And that the government should protect these rights, and if they don't, then they should be overthrown. Also, I believe in religious tolerance. What are your thoughts?
Good day John! I agree with the idea that people have three basic rights, but disagree on your idea on religious tolerance. I believe in an absolute monarch I think that the church should still be connected with the state, and the king should have complete control.
What do you think Martha?
To be honest, I agree with you John. I like the idea of a government that respects citizens basic rights.
So to conclude, I came up with the idea that people have three basic God given rights that should be protected by the government, and the state should not be one with the church. My ideas play an important role in history, and effect the way of government even today. Thank you for listening!
