we have to protect this castle, and make sure no invaders get inside. by the way jimmy, nice swording skills!
the kings/queens, also called the monarchs, contolled and ruled the land. they hired lords and ladies to manage the land and people that they could not.
we so are!
oh why do we have to do this? we are all already in great poverty! we are so miserable here.
lords and/or ladies were the manegers of the land. lords had to pay taxes to the king. however, ladies were incharge of taking care of their children and manor.
we will get those romans!
knights started of at age 7, ranking as a page. several years later, they became a squire. soon after, they were labeled as knights. they were taught how to sing, dance, horseback riding, and usage of weapons.
serfs were the most common social class. unlike some peasants, they could not leave the lord's land. they grew the crops and other foods the higher classes ate, and had to pay major taxes. plus, they lived in small, poor houses.
vikings attacked the western part of rome from the south, after the roman empire fell.
