  • The Impact of the Cold War on Iran
  •  It started  in 1920 when the  Socialist ideas were brought into Iran inspiring the  foundation of the Persian communist party. In 1945  Azerbaijan was part of Iran, and they declared autonomy from Tehran and established an independent government.
  • Iran Crisis
  •  During WW2 a treaty was made that the U.S; Britain; and the Soviet troops could stay in Iran  to protect oil from Germany. But 6 months after the World War, every country would have to leave Iran. What sparked the crisis is when the deadline came the Soviets were the only ones still  there. Then the U.S influenced Iran to crush the revolt in northern Iran.
  • Azerbaijan Crisis
  • Iran's     government was run by a man named Mohammad Reza Shah and his prime ministers. In Iran Shah means the Iranian king. During the Cold War the Iranian government was on the United States side more than the Soviets side. During the Cold War the president of the U.S was Dwight D. Eisenhower.
  • Government
  • Iran's economic development grew drastically. They made lots of money with their oil. The United States helped  Iran with lots of  economic things, and made lots of recommendations.   They became a larger importer of food.
  • Economy
  • The United States helped make Mohammad Reza Shah into power. The people of Iran overthrew him because they didnt like the amount of westernization coming into Iran. Once the people overthrew Mohammad, the new person was named Ayatollah Khomeini. He made lots of strict rules, and declined the rights that woman had.
  • Iran Revolution
