The older boy scouts sped up to keep up with the other scouts that had went in earlier. They thought that josh had gone with his dad and his dad thought that josh was with the older boy. So....

Josh got lost, he turned back and put his RIGHT hand on the wall instead of his LEFT hand and took a wrong turn.
There was this person named John and he said that he could find Josh. They already had 360 some people looking and they said "we don't need you we already have enough people looking." Then John was so convinced that he could find Josh THAT HE convinced a guard to let him and two friends go to find Josh.
When the men went though the cave and tunnels and found nothing they were starting to lose hope of josh being alive but in the cave 150 miles from where they started...
John and his buddies found Josh in a old ore pocket and he was so weak that he couldn't get out they had to carry him that 150 miles all the way back to safe ground.
