During lunch in the cafeteria Mitch Notices a girl staring at him and goes to talk to her. "Mitch nodded. 'She's been checking me out'" (p. 39). Kyle Called him a chicken and that he won't talk to her and they watched him walk over to her. He starts talk to her as the others were thinking it wasn't going to be fine and work out.

Scott's closest friend Patrick had news for Scott. Scott was really close to Patrick because he had knew him since 2nd grade. As Patrick explains about moving to Texas Scott thinks if Kyle will stay in the group when he and him are the only ones left.
Once it was Patrick's time to move Scott thinks about how they may keep in touch with each other. Then the only e-mail that Scott gets from Patrick was that he was moving to Japan. This was truly the final time Scott encounters Patrick.
Once Scott said that Kyle wasn't in Kelly's League Kyle started making fun of Scott for hanging out with the new girl Lee. Soon after they were finished pushing each other Scott figured out that Kyle wrote "Drop dead Freaky Bitch" on a note and stuck it to her locker which made Scott Tackle him.
