The Lord appears to Abraham and tells him to go the land of Canaan. When he arrives, he then builds an Altar to the Lord.
The Lord makes the Covenant with Abram
Circumcise your people. If you do so, I will make of you a great nation.
After Abraham arrives in Canaan, he asks Sarai to play as his sister, in order so the Egyptians do not kill him.
Sarai births Isaac
Thank you, God!
When they arrive before Pharaoh, Pharaoh then notices Sarai's beauty. Later, he invites them to stay at his house. When he finds out that she is his wife, then he tells them to leave.
The Test of Abraham
If this is what must be done...
The Lord came down to Abram and told him to circumcise his people when they are eight days old. The Lord told him that if he obeyed him that he would multiply him exceedingly.
I will obey your command
As God had promised, Sarai gave birth to Isaac, even though she was ninety years old. Abram would later follow God's rules and circumcise him at eight days old.
God tells Abraham (name has now changed) to burn his son as an offering. Right as he is about to kill his son with a knife, an angel appears before him and tells him not to kill it. This was a test from God to see if he would follow his command.
