  • "Who were you?"   "You're particular for a shade."
  • "In life I was your partner, Jacob Marley."
  • Stave 2    (633)
  • "Who and what are you?"
  • "I am the Ghost of Christmas past."
  • Stave 3     (645)
  • "Forgive me i am wrong. It has been done in your name, or at least in that of your family."
  • "I seek!"
  • The theme shows that Marley is visiting scrooge to tell him he needs to change his ways.  He shows him the chain that he forged in life and it scares scrooge. Scrooge begs Marley to tell him more and he doesn't want a chain when he dies.
  • Stave 4     (663)
  • "Spirit! Hear me! I am not the man I once was. I will not be the man I must have been but for this intercourse. Why show me this, if I am past all hope?"
  • In this stave the ghost of Christmas past shows scrooge his past. Scrooge is very happy when he sees the places he remembers. He soon gets very sad when it shows him all alone. He gets happy agian when he sees himself enjoying Christmas.

  • "Its only once a year sir. It shall not be repeated I was making rather merry yesterday"
  • In this stave the ghost of christmas present shows scrooge that everyone is talking about him and wishing him a merry christmas. He is happy until people start saying mean things about him. This makes him start think about how rude and mean he has been
  • 
  • In this stave it shows the true fear scrooge feels. He pleads for some way to be able to turn his life around and change his ways. This is important because it advances the story a lot.
  • Scrooge
  • In this stave it shows that scrooge is changing. He gives Bob a raise and he also sent him a giant turkey. He also paid for tiny tim's medical bill. Scrooge becomes very happy by the end and promised to never hate christmas again.
