Hey there! I'm about to send us back in time to when there was only the 13 British Colonies! When we get there, we will be in the Southern Colonies! Come on, let's GO!
And here we are! The Southern Colonies! Here it was usually warm but had mild winters. It was made up of Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia! Also, they lived on the coastal plains.
As you can see, this is a farm. But the reason I'm here is because they had a long growing season and ideal soil for farming. Life here centered on large farms. The area was also covered with forests. They fished and hunted for food, as well as farming. They made their money by having slaves, servants, and selling cash crops like sugar cane and rice.
Children were taught mostly at home, and teens either went to college or Europe. Girls did not get schooled, and schools were small. Houses were spread out, causing little to no social interaction. Their religion was tolerant and more widespread. It was the Anglican religion, but not centered.
They were very simply self-governing. And that ends our tour of the Southern Colonies! Lets head back now, because we all have things to do, people to see! C'mon!
And now that wraps up our tour! Now head on out and do something fun! You deserve it! BYE!!!!
