One thing Rome left behind was the republic. A republic has some laws that can not be taken away or changed by the government.
The romans used laws and we use laws also. We use latin terms they used and we are similar to them this way.
Rome left behind a language called latin. A lot of english words have latin roots or have latin words. Rome spoke greek as well in the east after the west fell. All doctors and scientist learn it because a lot of parts on humans have latin names and so they can communicate.
The romans had domes and arches in their buildings because it was good support for big buildings. They were known to be great builders because we discover concrete from them.
The Romans were also known for their construction . They built a building that is known today called Hagia Sophia. It was built as a church that is made out of concrete, pillars, arches and domes. It was built in the Byzantine Empire.
Rome is responsible for christianity. Christianity is inspired by jesus. Jesus was born in Judea and was jewish.
