Storyboard Text

  • Margo Roth Spiegelman Shows and Quinton Jacobson were neighbors and best friends as children. Now, 9 years later they’ve grown up and no longer talk until one day late at night Margo shows up at Quinton’s window.
  • “I heard the window open, and Margo’s blue eyes were staring back at me. Her eyes were all I could see at first, but as my eyes adjusted, I realized she was wearing black face paint and a black hoodie”(Green 25).
  • Margo showing up at Quinn’s window creates a chain reaction of events throughout the night. Without  Margo’s thirst for adventure Quinton never would have stolen his mother's car which constructs the base for the entire story to unfold. During the night they drive around their town breaking and entering into their peers' houses seeking revenge for the harassment and torture from the previous 3 years of high school. They explored and tested boundaries of the law.Their night ended after breaking into SeaWorld and getting caught. These major events in the book could have only happened after Margo turning up outside Quinton’s window at midnight on May 5th.
  • After the fun-filled adventurous night, Quinn had with Margo, she turns up missing. Quinn is investigated by the cops as well as he does some detective work of his own. He and his friends find hidden clues that appear to be left behind from Margo leading to her disappearance. After finding these clues Quinton decides to follow after Margo and break the code she is trying to send.
  • “‘Bro she’s definitely in New York City’ Ben said….’She wants you to go to New York City”(Green 127).
  • “Margo’s mom had said that Margo’s clues never led anywhere, but I knew now that Margo had created a chain of clues一and she seemingly made them for me”(Green 113).
  • Margo’s clues caused a problem for Quinton and many people in their school. If Margo hadn’t left clues that were apparently left for Quinn to find then he wouldn't have made the decision to follow her and discover what she was trying to say. Quinton’s decision was very important because it not only impacted him but his close friends as well. He forces his friends to follow along with him and uncover where the clues lend and where she had gone. The encounter many dangerous and challenging quests along the way.
