  • 1786 But then a soldier that was with the new government of America threatened to take away Shay's land along with many other peoples land.
  • 1786 Since him and many others were mad about this happening, he convinced them to rebel against the Articles of Confederation which was the reason all of this happened.
  • After creating what was soon called Shay's rebellion, they decided to go to the Massachusetts court house to set things straight and to tell them what they should have their land back and have the debts payed.
  • 1787 When the rebellion made it to Massachusetts they started to destroy and vandalize the state house. The soldiers there had to fight back.
  • After Shays rebellion went to the court house they were soon defeated by the soldiers. But in the end the United states government understood that some of the people were not happy with what was happening. So they took away the articles of confederation and made them more reasonable and added taxing so they could pay off the debt of the war.
