Hi my name is farmer Dan and I am here to talk about cell energy. Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration and Fermentation are all energy processes, experienced by cells.
Sunlight, Water, and Carbon Dioxide into the cell (endocytosis)
Oxygen and Starch out of cell(exocytosis)
Glucose and Oxygen into the cell. Reaction occurs in mitochondria.
ATP is produced and Carbon Dioxide leaves the cell.
Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from Carbon Dioxide and Water. 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + light --> C6H12O6 + 6 O2.
Photosynthesis allows plants to convert water and carbon dioxide into energy to grow. Chloroplast, found in the plant cell, is where photosynthesis occurs. Photosynthesis produces oxygen and glucose.
Cellular Respiration occurs when cells convert sugars into energy (ATP). C6H12O6+ 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O + ATP. Cellular respiration occurs in the mitochondriaFermentation is an anaerobic pathway for breaking down glucose. Fermentation allow glucose to be continuously broken down to make ATP.
