  • this is the story of the Boston tea party
  • tea only 1.99 plus 2000000000% tax
  • The Boston Tea Party arose from two issues confronting the British Empire in 1765: the financial problems of the British East India Company; and an ongoing dispute about the extent of Parliament's authority
  • it was December 16th 1773 the government made tea taxes very high and the people needed to do something about it
  • As Europeans developed a taste for tea in the 17th century, rival companies were formed to import the product from China. In England, Parliament gave the East India Company a monopoly on the importation of tea in 1698.
  • in 1773 a group calling themselves the sons of liberty did a peaceful protest and  hijacked a east India trade boat and threw all the tea into the ocean
  • The Boston Tea Party was a significant event in the growth of the American Revolution. Parliament responded in 1774 with the Coercive Acts, or Intolerable Acts, which, among other provisions, ended local self-government in Massachusetts and closed Boston's commerce.
