The Pioneer Women were women seeking new opportunities or marriage. Theses women thought that settling West would help them find these things. Between 1840 and 1869, almost 350,000 people traveled West in wagons.
lot's of these pioneer women died from disease, drowning, children fell from wagons, and some almost froze to death. These women went through a lot more they above,some survived and earned a new status for women in they United States.
This journey made some pioneer women find strengths and abilities they didn't know they had. This adventure also helped with equality for women.
