  • The servants from the Montagues and Capulet's start an argument.  Montague and Capulet interfere, the Prince comes and orders them to leave.

  • Montague and Lady Montague are worried for Romeo.  They sent Benvolio to figure out what is wrong with him. Romeo explains his sadness to Benvolio.

  • "Why such is love's transgression.  Griefs of mine own lie heavy in my breast, which thou wilt propagate to have it pressed with more of thine."(36)

  • Paris asks Capulet for permission to marry Juliet. Capulet says his daughter is too inmature to marry.

  • My child is yet a stranger in the world...Let two or more summers wither in their pride Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride(40)

  • Clown invites Romeo and Benvolio to Capulet's party after Romeo helps him read the list of people who were invited.
