  • “What??? How is she a murderer? Abortion is legal..”
  • Leo: “She's not heartless for killing something that doesn't even have its own”
  • Margarette: “So you know your stuff, still, it's literally a BABY. How could you be so heartless? Religions see it as murder, so do even some politicians.”
  •
  • “Did you hear that Maggie got an abortion? Shes literally a murderer how could she do that…”
  • “It should be illegal. I honestly wish that that stupid law could be overturned.”
  •
  • “Well actually, Roe v Wade was a court case in which Jane Roe, an unmarried pregnant woman, sued to overturn Texas abortion regulations on behalf of herself and others. Roe's lawsuit was joined by a Texas doctor who claimed that the state's abortion rules were too ambiguous for doctors to follow. What came from this historical case was that The United States Constitution guarantees a woman's right to choose whether or not to have an abortion as a fundamental "right to privacy."”
  • Leo: “However, the right to abortion is not absolute. It must be weighed against the government's desire to preserve women's health and prenatal life. This meant that all could get abortions, but the statistical measures were determined by state. However, this isn't enough. In this verdict they say that they want to keep within their mind the interests of prenatal life. Only, it's not a life until it is born. If a woman doesn't want to grow a human, they shouldn't have to. It is their body, not anyone else's. The constitution sees this, and so they add, “it specified a woman's right to privacy and access to abortion during the first trimester of pregnancy”-- PRIVACY. “
  • Margarette: “But the life of the baby is important. It’s literally murder and we need those lives to continue our nation.”
  • Leo: “Then fix our foster care system. That's enough kids right there.”
  • Margarette: “...”
  • Leo: “Further, the government is not likely to overturn this court case seeing as they have looked over appeals to overturn them and announced them invalid. Further, they forced forty-six states to change their abortion laws to align with the Supreme Court’s opinion. The decision was also one of the most controversial in the history of the court. This was considered a landmark decision in the US legal landscape.”
  • Maragrette: “OKAY I GET IT. Just listen to what i have to say:”
  • Margarette: “There is another perspective of this case, and that is the side of the fetus. Like all countries, America wants their nation to have a future; and that is only possible if people continue to reproduce. So, there is a want to dissuade people from getting abortions.”
  • “Sure Margarette. But consider this:”
  • Leo: “That’s irrelevant because the want of life isn't nearly as important as the life we have right now- the ones that belong to the women. It doesn't matter the circumstances- it's a woman's body, not the governments.”
  • Margarette: “I see your point now.”
  • Leo: “Indeed.”
  • Leo: “This will always be controversial because there will always be people who see both sides. However, the government decided this then and will continue to decide against the overturning-abortion is a right, not a privilege or crime. To conclude, Roe V Wade shouldn’t be overturned because it's the woman's right, not the governments.”
  • Margarette: “Well, you’ve convinced me. Jeez, overturning that case would be disastrous.”
