Storyboard Text

  • Congress, i'm here today to talk how important our values are.
  • And i'm here to talk about how we should fight for what we actually want.
  • First, are you much interested in liberty as you want me to be? And maybe too much liberty will be as bad as too little liberty and I think you're a goddam fourflusher talking through your hat and i've already decided that I like the liberty I've got  right here the liberty to walk and see and hear and talk and eat and sleep with my girl. I think I like that liberty better than fighting for your liberty, Wilson.
  • Okay but, all the guys who died all the five million or seven million or ten million who went out and died to make the world safe for democracy to make the world safe for words without meaning how did they feel about it just before they died?
  • When we go to war with Germany, we must make the world safe for democracy-
  • Did the killed soldiers say i'm glad I died to make the world safe for democracy? No because nobody but the dead know whether all these things people talk about are worth dying for or not. And the dead can't talk.
  • Listen we have no selfish ends to serve. However, we shall be satisfied when those rights have been made as secure as the faith and the freedom of nations can make them.
  • ...we can dedicate our lives and fortunes, everything that we are and everything that we have, with the pride of those who know that day has come when America is privileged to spend her blood and her might for the principles that gave her happiness and the peace which she has treasured.
  • Joe, those who are for democracy, for the right of those who submit authority to have a voice in their own government. A concert of free people shall bring peace and safety to all nations and make the world itself at last free...
  • Only free peoples can gold their purpose and their honor steady to a common end and prefer the interests of mankind to any narrow interest of their own-
  • Second, please all your guys who want to fight to preserve our honor let us know what the hell honor is. Is it American honor for the whole world we're right for? Maybe the whole world doesn't like it. Maybe South Sea Islanders like their honor better.
  • Now hold on Joe!-
  • That's enough! Thank you Mr. Wilson and Joe
  • Of course!
  • Yeah *sigh*
  • We, the Congress, respect both sides to your arguments on our American values. Thank you again!
