Experiment showing all three states of matter
Good morning, Students! We are conducting an experiment today! Materials:1. A beaker with baking soda. 2. Bottle with vinegar
Task: We are going to inflate a balloon by combining vinegar and baking soda. 1. What words would you use to describe baking soda and vinegar?
Miss, I think the baking soda is a solid. Even though it is a powder, the grains are solid.
Good morning Miss PAAM!I would describe the vinegar as a clear, liquid.
Very good Amanda! The vinegar is a clear LIQUID. How would you describe the baking soda Peter?
Excellent! The baking soda is a SOLID!Do you think when we combine the 2 it will cause the balloon to inflate?
Cool! The bubbles are rising to the top of the bottle and the balloon is inflating!
Wow! mixture is bubbling up!
When we combine our Solid (baking soda) and our Liquid (vinegar) a reaction occur resulting in a GAS called -Carbon dioxide. This inflates our balloon.
