I need to get Jim a Christmas present.
But I have no money.
Come Cut your hair for money.
Della wants to get Jim a present that he will like.
Della wanted to get him a gift but doesn't have enough money.
She found a place to cut her hair and receive some money and buys a chain for Jim's watch.
She waited for Jim to get home and was nervous about what he would think about her new look.
Jim gets home and notices that she cut her hair.
They both are sad that they gave up their most valuable item to get something for the other persons' valuable item.
