Storyboard Text

  • King James was a protestant and wanted everyone to do what he does as a protestant. All the Catholics followed the rules they thought god wanted them to follow but James said to pray in protestant churches and not catholic churches.
  • Robert Catesby and three of his friends made up a plan to blow up the Houses of Parliament on the one day of the year when the King visits the Houses of Parliament. To blow up the Houses of Parliament they needed someone who new how to gun powder. They did this to kill KIng James.
  • "Ok people this is our plan..."
  • Later on, Robert and his friends finally found someone who new how to use gun powder and his name was Guy Fawkes. They told him their plan and Guy Fawkes said that we they would need twenty barrels of gun powder to blow up the whole of the Houses of Parliament.
  • As you know how to use gun powder can you help us with something
  • Robert,Guy and their team set the gun powder up in a cellar right underneath the Houses of Parliament. They told three more people (which was a mistake) as one of them was their friends and they didn't want them to die so they gave them a letter that told them everything they needed to know.
  • We have asked you all to come here so we can tell you our plan and take this letter and it will tell you what we are doing and to get away
  • The KIng found out about this and he ordered his soldiers to search the whole Houses of Parliament. They didn't find anything so they searched the houses near the Houses of Parliament and they found Guy Fawkes in a cellar under the Houses of Parliament with all the gun powder.
  • arrest him!
  • oh No
  • Guy Fawkes was hung drawn and quartered and they others were shot dead. They put their heads on a spike and then put them on traitors gate to remind people not to try and kill the King or Queen or this would happen to you. This is why we celebrate the 5th of November by lighting bomb fires to remember Guy Fawkes.
