We lived in Washington, DC and it was 1941. My dads job was to report on exciting political or war events. He had just told us that we are moving to Hawaii for his job. I was really sad because I was starting to get really close to my friend, Allison. I went to school the next day and I told Allison about us moving. She was really mad and I tried to explain that I can't help it.
OMG that´s terrible
We made it to Hawaii but it was a long and tiring flight. I made a new friend at school, she's pretty cool, her name is Kame. My mom told me that I should make a least two or a group of friends but I just couldn't. I am so used to having one best friend because I know that we will probably move soon.
Mr. Poole did not make it through the surjery
Kame invited me to her house for dinner. They had a very nice house and family. They handed me chopsticks and I was so confused so, Kame got me some silverware. I slept over that night. I thanked them and then my mom came earlier then expected and had some bad noise.
You were a great friend
My mom had just told me that Mr. Poole,a friend we met at the store, was in the hospital. And that we are going into war with Japan. Mr. Poole is okay, but he was walking on the beach talking on the phone and bOoM, he saw that about 50 yards out the harbor just got bombed by Japanese fighter jets. He was in so much shock he just stood there. He got hit by a bunch of debree and needs to get his leg amputated in emergency surgry.
We went to Keme's house to see if their family was okay. They were but dad was on the phone with the surgent who just got done with Mr. Poole's surgery. Dad had some bad noise. Mr. Poole didn´t make it through the surgery and for the first time ever I saw my mom shed a tear.
The grown-ups took turns saying good bye to Mr. Poole. Mom said that the kids shouldn't go in. I think Dad got hit the hardest. Mr. Poole was his best friend, well Anyways, we moved to New York. Mom and dad got better over time. Andy got his baseball team and dad took him to a game and had a blast!
