- No! You did not ask for my consent to take the picture and I don't want to sit near Jake.
- Bro it's a stupid picture relax. I'm taking it. Plus I'm your best friend.
- Tom. no. Just because I know you doesn't mean you get a free pass. Consent is asking for permission to do something before you actually do it.
- It's stupid. We should go outside to talk about it.
- What even is consent?
- If you ask someone for permission and they enthusiastically answer "yes," "absolutely," or "sure", then you may proceed. Understand that it's ok if they go back on their word.
- What about if the person is sleeping? Can I just take a picture of them? They'll find it funny for sure
- So like, "Jen, would it be ok if I took a picture with you?"
- I didn't even know that consent existed!
- So, can we please take a picture? It's ok if you say no.
- Brent-No that's creepy. Even if you know the person, they can't give consent when they are sleeping. Bud, just take "no" for an answer and move on.
