Storyboard Text

  • On a hot summer afternoon, a woman was running in Winter Green Park. While running on the trail she stumbled over a dead body and used her cell phone to dial 911. The police, a CSI unit, a detective, and the medical examiner responded to the crime scene. When the police officers got there they immediately closed off the area with crime scene tape.
  • The search for evidence, witness, and clues began. The CSI unit took pictures of the body, blood on a nearby tree, a cell phone found 30 feet from the body, and a 9 millimeter gun found a few feet away. They examined the blood on the victim's right hand, a short brown hair found in between her right hand fingers and scraped skin cells from under her nails. The trace evidence was sent to the State crime lab.
  • Detectives found the cell phone case had a driver's license identifying the victim as Angela Jones. Her name was run in NCIC, the National Crime Information Center, and she came back as a missing person. Recent text messages were from a Jack Smith and from a Jeremy Jones. A week before, Jack texted the victim a surprise he had for her. Jeremy's text said he wished she was dead.
  • Detectives found Jeremy Jones, a teenager with short black hair, claiming to be the 16 year old son of the victim. Jeremy had filed the missing persons report on his mother a few days ago. He said he last saw his mother a week ago when she said she was going out of town with her boyfriend, Jack Smith, for two days. He said they had an argument because he didn’t like Jack since he was abusive and drank a lot. xx
  • Detectives found Jack Smith’s wife at their home. She described Jack as a medium sized man with short brown hair. She said all she knew was that Angela worked with her husband, that Jack was at work, and had noticed some scratch marks on his face. At Jack and Angela's workplace, Tom Montgomery, their boss, confirmed that Angela requested time off and hadn’t been back in a week.
  • Jack was called to the office where detectives interviewed him. He admitted he was dating Angela. He said he and Angela got into a fight about a week ago because Angela threatened to tell Jack's wife about their relationship because she didn’t want to go on the trip with him and leave her son at home alone. The crime lab report arrived indicating the DNA evidence matched both Jeremy and Jack. Who did it?
