The pictures above prove my statement because they show how a crowd of ordinary people can turn into mob of cold-blooded killers. Charlie shot at the figure because they thought it was the monster. However, it was really just Pete Van Horn, returning from his search to see if the power was still on on Floral Street. After the crowd finds out that Charlie killed Pete Van Horn, they turn on him and attack him, leaving him injured. After this scene, Charlie looks for a way out and pins it on Tommy. Then, the peacefulness of Maple Street, USA descends into Chaos and Turmoil. This emphasizes my point of the theme I think this tale gives off, that Mankind is its own worst enemy.
