Storyboard Text

  • Mr. Rauch good to see you today, my first question to you is: Why did you end the memoir the way you wanted it to be?
  • Well, I wanted my readers to predict but at the same time, consider what I've been through, all the letters they've read for my parents, and all of the memories I've mentioned
  • What do readers like me want to learn after reading this book?
  • I want them to learn that no matter what obstacles they face, always try to find a way to get through it, regardless on the severity of the situation.
  •     You may have some influence in the world when looking back. Explain the purpose of writing this book. What was the universal message?
  • The main "message" of this book is, like I said, face your fears, have faith even when times are though, since you have control of your own life, not others.
  • I know for a fact that your were in Hitlers Army. When did you realize regretting being in that situation you were in?
  • I would say during the time when I went to war against the Russians, due to my ancestry and situation. Since the Holocaust was at its peak at that time, I was concerned about my identity and future, like which direction would this go. Could it get better or worse than it should be.
  • During your time in one of Russia's labor camps, what was going through your head, were you feeling a sense of Hope or Helplessness
  • Both actually, you know after I got captured, I had no idea what was going to happen next. I thought my life would end there. But I had hope when they released me as a "Russian Spy", knowing that I finally got to go on a long journey back home.
  • Thanks for giving me an opportunity on letting this talk take place!!!
  • No problem, just keep in touch when necessary
