The reason the Irish started to immigrate to America was so they could avoid the potato famine, where many people died from starvation
When the Irish arrived to America they were treated badly, they arrived with little money and not many skills They lived in below average homes and didn't own many things.
The Irish were not offered many jobs due to their British roots.
No Irish jobs here, not for the British scum.
But the Irish did find work making bridges and canals
So they lived there life out making bridges and canals for transportation, making little money. But in the end not starving to death from lack of potatoes.
