This scene happens after Bono is told the news. Sadden, Bono tries to give the best advice to Troy that would help him make the right decision. Where all of Troy's responsibility is in this decision which will affect his relationship with Rose and his family.
This scene is where Troy talks about his responsibility, as he feels tied down to his family. Whereas Rose feels upset because she also has a responsibility of being a good wife. Therefore, Troy is seen as being selfish which causes this scene.
This scene goes back the to theme family responsibility because Troy's is supposed to be protecting his family and not hurting them. However, his pride gets the best of him, and therefore creates this scene.
