  • Have you ever wondered what you are made of?
  • Well, cells make up all living things. You, a frog, even a whale!
  • Cells are the smallest functional unit of an organism. Some organisms only have one cell, some have many.
  • In 1665, Robert Hooke invented the basic light microscope and observed cells for the first time. Rudolf Vierhow developed the a theory that cells only come from other cells in 1858, which led to the Cell Theory.
  • The cell theory:1. All organisms are composed of cells2. Cells are alive and the basic living units of an organization of all organisms3. All cells come from another cell.
  • Now you know what you are made of and how it came to be.
