Theme with TAG: the theme of "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street", a teleplay by Rod Serling is a well written play because it explains how communism affected many innocent people. By turning off their electricity, Rod Serling demonstrated how something went wrong and everyone turned against each other, and start blaming everyone for being aliens or communists. At the end there are two figures talking about the people on maple street and how quick they are to accuse one another when none of them actually did anything.
theres aliens among us!
l'll see if the other streets are having this problem too!
Everyone on Maple street is outside hanging out with each other at 6:43 pm.
Everything is going fine until Tommy, a little boy mentions something fly overhead and the electricity goes out. Now everyone is getting worried and panicking.
Suspicious things start happening and the neighborhood starts going against each other and accusing each other for being aliens. Pete Van Horn volunteers to check the other streets.
Turn some lights off and watch them tear each other up
wow thats all
After being gone for a long time Pete Van Horn is walking back up the street. Charlie gets suspicious and shoots at Pete. Charlie hits him and Pete falls to the floor dead.
I didn't mean to, it was an accident!
Everyone starts to blame Charlie, but then lights start going on and on, and everyone is suspicious again.
It wasn't me it was the kid! It was Tommy!
In the distance there are two figures almost alien like watching the people on maple street, talking about the neighbors being so quick to accuse each other when something goes wrong.
