  • Hi!  I'm neighbor Gene!  One of my favorite places is China.  Here are some facts: "The Tibet-Qinghai Plateau is very dry and cold. In Summer the average temperature there is often only 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Winters are only 18 degrees."  It is a rocky place and covers the outer part of China. "The major rivers running through the Northwestern Plain are the Liao and theSungarie."

  • The Taklimakan Desert covers an area of about 15000 square miles and is considered one of the most dangerous deserts in the world.  The name means "once you go in, you will not come out."  Legends says that two armies and  cities are buried  feet beneath the sand dunes.

  • "The Gobi Desert is one of the largest deserts in the world.  The surface is made up of small pebbles and sand.  Vegetation is sparse.  Plants tend to be small and widely spaced apart."

  • The Northeastern Plain is mostly prairie grass, which in ancient times provided food for animals.  It has short warm summers, but in winter, the northern and eastern parts of the ploain are dry and cold.

  • the north China plain is called "the land of yellow" because the ground has lots yellow limestone silt. there is lots of rivers running through the  plain.  the silt goes into the river and  puts it on the ground which fertilizes the ground.

  • the Chang Jiang Basins climate is wet and mild.the river Chang Jiang (or long river) is even bigger than the Hang Hi river. The vegatition is thick
