  • Wellness
  • There are a few types of wellness. These include social wellness, mental/emotional wellness, and physical wellness. Social wellness is being socially active by having fun with friends and family. That means playing sports, doing fun activities, or anything that involves spending time with others. Mental/emotional wellness involves having a healthy mindset and emotions. This can be staying happy and trying to relieve stress using coping methods. Finally, physical wellness involves exercising and eating healthy. This can be playing sports, or anything else that involves you being physically active.
  • SMART Goals
  • SMART goals are very important for goal setting. They are a type of goal that is more specific. The acronym, SMART, stands for Specific, meaning that it targets a specific area of improvement, Measurable, meaning you can measure your success throughout your completion of the goal, Achievable, meaning it is a challenging goal but still possible, Realistic, meaning that it is a realistic goal and not way too much, and lastly, Time-related, which means that it has a due date or a certain time-frame. These goals can help you accomplish many challenges and improve yourself in many ways.

  • There are three different types of fitness training: Cardiovascular, flexibility, and resistance training. Cardiovascular training can include running, swimming, biking, or anything that involves exercising the heart or lungs. Flexibility training is stretching out muscles so that they can work better and longer. Yoga is an example of flexibility training. Resistance training is a type of training that involves pushing or pulling things that provide resistance in order to strengthen muscles. An example of this is weight lifting.
  • Caloric Balance
  • Caloric balance is the balance between your fitness and your eating habits. It comes from the word calories. When you participate in physical activity, you burn off calories. However, when you eat, you gain calories. Caloric balance means the balance between gaining and losing calories. You want to keep it pretty even by doing fitness regularly, and eating regularly.
  • Injury Prevention
  • Injury prevention is also very important. Many injuries can occur during physical activity. Some of these include muscle strains, muscle sprains, blisters, and shin splints. Muscle strains can be helped by using the R.I.C.E. Method. This means, rest, ice, compression, elevation. Muscle sprains should be looked at by a doctor, but the R.I.C.E. Method is good for those too. Blisters can be treated by drying, cleaning and bandaging the infected area. If you have shin splints, stay away from exercise that could cause pain.
  • Advertisements
  • Advertisements can affect people's decisions and choices on food a lot. There are many different ways companies advertise such as bandwagon, image advertising, and emotional appeal. They use these techniques to make their food sound better, even if it isn't. When it comes to deciding what food you want at the grocery store, or what restaraunt you want to eat at, most of the time your decision is influenced by advertisements.
