We've been walking for 2 weeks now. There is still no sight of Timbuktu yet. I predict it will take 3 more days until we reach. We have spent very little on the gold with passing villages . I think that was reasonable of Mansa Musa. Let's hope that he makes wise decisions along the way otherwise me and the other scholars will be furious.
We have walked across the desert for some time now. It is almost exasperating. But, this is a wise decision for the camels on Mansa Musa's part. The salt is also keeping the meat fresh for whenever we sit down and feast. People are chanting, singing, panting and all those storytellers telling their stories.
We are on our way to Cairo now after the scholars and I finish advising Mansa. We took a break to meditate and get water. Even in the rain,
I even got to have a valued conversation with some of the local villagers and merchants in Cairo
That is correct
This is really unbeleivable. Mansa Musa is here, at Cairo, trading and buying our goods for gold and salt. That is so valuable. I head that there are mines in Mali. But the king is spending a lot of gold.
Of course, more money for us.
Do you believe that is a good idea?
After that chat with that villager, I realized there could be some serious damage of Mansa Musa's actions in Caito.
I haven't heard anything from Cairo yet. But we are almost there. Mecca will be a lovly experience for the rest of the scholars and I. Mansa Musa has built so many beautiful mosques and other buildings. I cannot wait for this hajj to be over so I can go study in Mecca.
