  • HA! Peasants! 
  • Holy Roman Empire Ferdinand II of Bohemia tried to restrict his subject’s religious activities, which caused the Protestants to revolt.
  • The people thought that the King had to much power and wanted him out of power. 
  • One of the other reasons as to why there was a 30 year war was because of money. Money= Power too. Everyone wanted more money. 
  • WE DON'T WANT YOU CATHOLICS!
  • THe war had different phases. They were the (not in order in the picture sorry) Bohemian, than the Danish, the Swedish, and finally the French. 
  • During the last years of the war, they were just fighting, and hadn’t even remembered why! They all gathered up and made a treaty: The Peace of Westphalia. This treaty weakened the Holy Roman Empire, and left France as the most powerful country in Western Europe. The Protestants one this one!
  • After the war, the influence and power of the Catholics became very little. People did not want the Catholics.
