In Chapter 1, Jem and Scout meet Dill in their home of Maycomb County. They also tell stories to each other about a kid named Boo Radley. This is when Dill is first introduced. (Lee 7)
In Chapter 2, Scout has her first day of school, and her teacher doesn't like her at all. By this point in the story, Scout's true intelligence begins to show. (Lee 17)
In Chapter 3, Scout gets into a fight with Walter Cunningham, but then later Jem invited him to have lunch with them. She receives a very important lesson from her father to put yourself in other's shoes. (Lee 23 & 24)
In Chapter 4, Scout goes in a tire and lands in the front yard of the Radley place. This adds more suspicion to who may be inside the house.(Lee 38)
In Chapter 5, Scout, Jem, and Dill used a fishing pole to try to get Boo Radley to come out of his house. This is important because this is their first encounter of trying to meet Boo. (Lee 48)
In Chapter 6, the kids went to the Radley place. Jem lost his pants to a wired fence trying to escape the Radley place after they heard a gunshot there. You begin to see more of Nathan Radley. (Lee 53 & 54)
