The Persians wanted to take over Greece. They landed on Marathon hoping the Greeks would be there. Nope. They waited a while. When they decided they were going straight to Athens to destroy the Greeks, the Greeks came down a hill and attacked the Persians. Victory to The Greeks!

The Persians attacked again out of revenge. Themistocles of Athens controlled the Athenian navy. Another win!
Spartan king, Leonidas, controlled the army at the battle of Thermopylae. The army cut off the Persians supplies and stopped them from attacking Athens. Victory again!
The Persians defeated the Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae. Some traitor led the Persians around the Greeks so they could attack. King Leonidas let most of his troops go. He kept some to stay and fight. The Spartans lost.
Athen's Themistocles created a plan. He lured the Persians big ships into the strait of Salamis. There all the Persian ships crashed and all the small Greek ships took out the remaining Persian ships. Victory again!
