Edmund, plots the death of his father,Gloucester, and half-brother, Edgar.

Gloucester unexpectedly enters and reads Edmund's letter "from Edgar"

After Gloucester leaves, Edgar arrives and Edmund tells him hes seen a prediction that misfortune will come to Edgar and that he must carry a sword. Causing suspicion with his Father.

Edmund tricks Edgar into drawing his sword against him, and cuts his own arm letting Gloucester believe Edgar has tried to kill Edmund, and sends his men after Edgar.
Pursue him, ho! Go after.
Edgar is forced out of the Kingdom. He has lost everything and is forced to disguise himself as a beggar and hide in a tree.
I will now be knwon as "Poor Tom" and take shelter in this hollowed out tree
During the fight to win back the Kingdom for Lear, Edgar mortally wounds his brother Edmund, claiming Justice for himself and reclaiming what was rightfully his.
