Sheyann Webb saw two men one black and one white talking in her neighbor hood near her church, she thought it was unusual to see and black and a white man talking to each other and being happy.
Sheyann Web decided to follow the two men and see what was going on, and followed them into a church.
After Sheyann followed the two men into the church she saw a man named Hosea Williams and he was talking about freedom and Dr. Martin Luther King, and black registered voters.
Sheyann and her friend Rachel were playing out side of the church one day when a nice car comes up and Dr. Martin Luther King and his associate steps out and introduces himself to the the young girls and then Dr. King lets them come inside with them.
Sheyann would go to march's with a teacher named Margaret Moore who worked at another school but would come for marches and to be part of the movement. She would hold Mrs. Moore's hand and Mrs. Moore would be her chaperone at events like the marches. there ended up being one march that got really violent and Sheyann had to run and lost Mrs. Moore. Sheyann escaped the march but never saw Mrs. Moore again.
Sheyann's parents eventually came to one of the later mass meetings and promised for her birthday as her present that they would get registered to vote. Also at another march later she got to go with Dr. King's group and got to go to a hotel and eat a club sandwich for the first time it was still an experience for her.
