After a victory on long island, they started moving to new york. Howe put a lot of attention to fort washington. They got a message the british ship were coming.
Howe launched 3000 forts soldiers as defenders. They were out numbered by the british which had 8000. At the begin americans enjoyed there success. That success did not last long when 3000 british soldiers punched through the fort.
