Storyboard Text

  • In 1865, Mary Surratt opened a business but was later accused of plotting Lincolns death.
  • Later in April 30, they arrested Mary and multiple people who could've been involved with Lincoln death.
  • It is important to remember cause later In July 7 the military commission convicted Mary and was hanged even when she said she was innocent.
  • When they went to arrest Mary they decided that her son, John Surratt,  also had something to do with Lincoln assassination, but he already fled to Canada.
  • This can help us in the future because many people are wrongly accused without evidence all the time so we can take this as an example and not do it again.
  •  An interesting fact about Mary Surratt was that she was the first women to be executed by the U.S government
