Storyboard Text

  • I heard all things in heaven and in the Earth. I heard many things in hell. How then am I mad?
  • And observe how healthily- how calmly I can tell you the whole story.
  • Hearken!
  • It is impossible to say how the idea first entered my brain; but once conceived, it haunted me day and night.
  • I think it was his eye! Yes, it was this! He had the eye of the vulture.
  • I loved the old man. He had never wronged me.
  • I smiled gaily, to find the deed done.
  • The old man's hour had come!
  • He shrieked once- only once. In an instant, I dragged him to the floor, and pulled the heavy bed over him.
  • After my labors, a knock came from the street door. What had I to fear?
  • And pulled up a chair and sat right above the old man's burial spot.
  • Three men who had introduced themselves as officers of the police. I welcomed them to look around as they came to investigate a scream heard earlier by a neighbor.
  • I raved in insanity, confessing my deeds upon the officers. Anything to stop the beating of the old man.
  • I had convinced the officers up to that point that nothing was wrong.
  • But then,
  • A ringing sound in the faint distance grew into intense beats of the old mans heart.
