Exposition The narrator is telling us that he has a disease and this disease makes him hear things from heaven and hell even everything on Earth. People say he's mad but he thinks hes just powerful. He watches this old man sleep with a pale blue eye that he despises.
Rising Action The narrator drags the old man to the ground. Then the narrator suffocates the old man with the big mattress.
Plot The Narrator jumps into the room because of how loud he thinks the Old Man's heartbeat was. The Narrator put the Old Man's under the matrress and suffacated again.
Suspense The Narrator dismembers the Old Man in his bathtub, and hides him underneath the floor planks
Mood The cops knock at the door, and the Narrator is confident in his skills, and makes them sit in the same room the body is in. The Narrator then sits above the Old Man's corpse.

Climax The Narrator feels so guilty that he believes that he can hear the Old Man's heartbeat again and that the cops can hear it too. They also think that the cops are mocking him. The Narrator is so guilt-ridden, that he confesses.
