The resolution of the story is the fight between the General and Rainsford, which leads to the Generals death. The person who won the fight got to sleep in the General's bed and the person who lost was fed to the dogs. In the end it was said that Rainsford was sleeping in the bed, meaning the General was dead
One of the main conflicts in the story is between the General and Rainsford. Both these characters are fighting to achieve different goals. The General is fighting for his own entertainment, while Rainsford is fighting for his life.
There were multiple complications throughout the the story. Some being the fact that Rainsford was not familiar with while the General had been very familiar with it. This relates to the conflict because the General was having fun because he had the advantage over Rainsford, who was struggling throughout the fight.
