"'His specs - use them as burning glasses!'" (40) The quote demonstrates the other boys' lack of respect for Piggy and his growing resentment for treating him poorly.
"He whirled around on the assembly." (91) He lashes out in anger at the other boys. It shows how he has lost his patience and timidness. He is finally not taking their abuse and standing up to them.
