I never had many dreams as a child, but ever since I could remember, I've wanted to bring Asian representation to the entertainment industry.
Studying at Carnegie Melon University 10 years later would potentially help me fulfill this dream.
Which is why I joined the production of a movie planned to give Asians representation. But I was the only "representation" there.
Frustrated, I fled to a park to get a breath of fresh air. There, a fusion of pink and purple lit up my eyes. It was a whirligig in the shape of a jellyfish. Every strand represented something I never thought I would've had.
I had hope. And I knew I wasn't the only one.
@kerrieguo it's time to step up.
@samsuzuki we. need. representation.
I wasn't going to give up. Instead, I took initiative. Initiatve in starting a new era. Initiative in following my dreams. The first step of my journey? Hope.
