Icarus and Daedalus are stuck on an island because of the king. 1-9 "When Theseus escaped from the labyrinth, King Minos flew into a rage with it's builder, Daedalus, and ordered him shut up in a high tower facing thee lonely sea."
Daedalus creates wings so he and his son may escape from the island and they begin leaving the island. "He kissed Icarus and fastened the wings more securely to his sons shoulders." 48-49
Icarus and Daedalus leave the island and Icarus begins flying to close to the sun. His wings melt and he falls into the ocean and passes away. "Daedalus hurried to save him, hut it was too late." 82-83
Daedalus buried his son and named the island after him. "Weeping bitterly, he buried his small son and called the land Icaria in his memory" 85-86
Daedalus left the island after burring his son. "Then, with a flutter of wings, he once more took to the air, but the joy of his flight was gone and his victory over the air was bitter to him." 88-89
It was very courageous of Daedalus and Icarus to take flight and leave the island when there was a chance of getting caught. "He kissed Icarus and fastened the wings more securely to his sons shoulders." 48-49
