The narrator lives with an old man who he oves dearly but his pale blue eye drove him crazy. "I loved the old man...a pale blue eye... My blood ran cold."
The narrator snakes into the old mans room every night with a lantern shining it upon his eye. ""Once My head was in the room."
The old mans eye drives the narrator so insane that he sufficates the old man and cutts his body up. After that he hides him in the floor boards. "I dragged him to the floor and pulled the heavy bed over him."
The next day the police come to invstigate but the narrator is confident he will get away with it. "...as officers of the police.. In the enthusiasm of my confidence."
As the police officers are searching the narrator begins feeling guilty, the sound of his own heart beat made him yell out to the police officers and tell them what he did. "I amdit the deed!¨
The murder is the most suspensful because we don't know what is going to happen.
