  • First, the Arabs would display their items.
  • Next, They would beat a drum to signal a possible trade with the Wangarans and run away.
  • The Wangarans went to see the displayed items and to determine their value by placing gold dust next to them and running away after that.
  • After that, the Arabs would evaluate the gold and see if it was worth their items.
  • If it was, then the Arabs would take the gold and leave the items.
  • If it wasn't, then the Arabs would run away and negotiate until a trade was met.
