Storyboard Text
- Wink wink
- Nick is a Guardian who is preparing to wash the commanders expensive car. He is going about his own buisness as a normal day. Nick often does chores like this as he is assigned to be the commanders chauffeur.
- Offred who is a Handmaid who comes outside to make her daily trip to the food market. Once shes outisde her and Nick make eye contact as he flirtatiously winks at her. This is one of the first encounters with Offred and Nick. But what makes things challenging is that neither of them are allowed to talk or withhold a relationship because it is against the rules in this society.
- Serena Joy who is the commander's wife is in the sitting room waiting for all of the members of the house to arrive. The people that are called to the sitting room are the Martha's who are Cora and Rita, the Handamids like Offred, wives, Guardians etc. As they come in they watch TV specifically the news and wait for the commander to join.
- "Huh, "What are you doing in here?"
- Once everyone is in the sitting room. They all are required to watch TV. Nick comes in and walks to stand behind Offred. He then gets very close to her where the tip of his boot is touching with Offred's shoe. But no one is able to see because of Offreds long skirt/dress blocking there feet. He then keeps moving ot closer to touch it.
- In this scene Offred is in her bedroom trying to hide daffodills under her matress that she has taken leaving them for the next woman who comes after her who has her bedroom. As she's doing so she hears a noise...footsteps possibly... and becomes suspisious.
- She is able to get up and turn around and she sees Nick whihc really shocks her because they both know they are not allowed to be near each other. He came to deliver a message from the Commander that he wanted to see Offred. But before Ncik leaves he grabs Offred's hand and he is not able to control the feelings he has for her so they get closer and are basically hugging at this point. They both realize that what there doing has already gone too far and they don't want to get themselves in more trouble. Therefore, they both nicely push each other away.
