Act III opens with Banquo. He paces a corridor, wondering out loud about the Witches prophecies. He notes that all of the prophecies for Macbeth have come true however, he is skeptical of Macbeth,he is thinking that Macbeth might have cheated his way into the kingship. Banquo also wonders if the prophecy about his own sons being kings might become true.Macbeth takes the crown as a king. He is followed by Lady Macbeth, now his queen, and the court. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth invites Banquo to the feast they will host that night. Banquo accepts their invitation and says that he plans to go for a ride on his horse for the afternoon.Meanwhile,Macbeth hires two mercenaries to kill Banquo and Fleance,however Fleance escapes.But, as Fleance’s survival suggests, there can be no escape from the witches’ prophecies.

Once Banquo leaves,Macbeth hires these two murderers.Macbeth manipulate the murderers about the chronicled wrongs Banquo had done them in the past,he questions their manliness.He persuades them to kill Banquo & his son Fleance.In which they agree.

Lady Macbeth is paranoid about the situation and Macbeth's reaction.Lady Macbeth tries to calm her Husband by sending him letter,Macbeth keeps on mentioning about the nightmares he is seeing.

It is dusk, and the two murderers, now joined by a third murderer, linger in a wooded park outside the palace.Banquo dies, Fleance escapes. This is an example of Allusion because Shakespeare makes an allusion to the bible serpent or Satan

The news of Fleance angers Macbeth.Macbeth goes to sit at the head of the royal table but finds Banquo’s ghost sitting in his chair.Macbeth becomes horrified and Lady Macbeth tries to sort things out.They had to dismiss their guests.
In the stormy heath, the weird sisters meet with Hecate, the goddess of witches. Hecate is angry at them for giving Macbeth, his visions without her permission.They have plans tomorrow to show Macbeth his visions,false sense of security and “draw him on to his confusion.
That night, somewhere in Scotland.Lennox discussing with another Lord,what has happened to the kingdom. The lord tells Lennox that Macduff has gone to England, where he will join Malcolm in pleading with England’s King Edward for aid. News of these plots has prompted Macbeth to prepare for war.
